A meeting was held in Tashkent to discuss the results of the study of the work on ensuring the social adaptation of orphans and children left without parental care.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Public Education and the National Guard, as well as experts from the child protection sector of city and district khokimiyats. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commander of the National Guard, Colonel S. Mamayusupov.
Colonel A. Pirmatov, Head of the National Guard's Department for Work with Children's Institutions, S. Karimov, Head of the Prosecutor General's Office, S. Rakhmatov, Representative of the Oliy Majlis for Children's Rights (Children's Ombudsman), Department of Social Protection and Child Support of the Ministry of Public Education F.Akhmedov, Head of the Department of Military Patriotism, Spiritual-Enlightenment Education and Social Work with Youth of the University of Public Security, Lieutenant-Colonel Sh.Akramova made reports.
The meeting discussed the results of the de-institutionalization of "Mercy" homes and the results of the study of the introduction of the system of placement of children in family orphanages and foster care, the existing shortcomings and measures to eliminate them and further improve the system.
The suggestions and opinions were taken into account by the responsible persons, and instructions were given to study the proposals in detail and develop a plan for their implementation and relevant regulations.
